SNG & Flyaway

When journalists or announcers are on location, RRsat comprehensive Satellite News Gathering (SNG) services are right there with them. RRsat’s mobile satellite units are available to edit SD or HD content on-board and transmit breaking news, sports and special events throughout the world.

RRsat SNG trucks offer state-of-the-art analog and digital capabilities (MPEG-2 4:2:0 or 4:2:2, MPEG-4, DVB or DVB-S2, SD or HD) and are equipped with generators and UPS systems. They broadcast fully redundant (1+1), high-quality satellite transmissions in real-time using 1 m - 2.4 m KU band antennas. Each truck is staffed with a full crew of cameraman and audio engineer, and has top-notch equipment on board, including Sony SP and digital cameras, lighting kit, wireless microphones, Interruptible Feedback (IFB) earpiece, and audio mixer.

Transportable, digital/analog RRsat Flyaway systems are designed to be carried along wherever there is news to be covered. RRsat Flyaway units have provided control, monitoring and broadcasting services to all five continents for the World Cup and other major sporting events. They are deployed rapidly to even extremely remote locations, so that customer’s feeds can reach their destinations, on short notice and at reasonable cost.
